PACA Announces Graduation of Emerging Leaders Academy Class

This is the fourth class to start

The Pennsylvania Aggregates and Concrete Association (PACA) today announced its fourth class of Emerging Leaders Academy (PELA) students graduated during the association’s annual meeting in Hershey.

Selected by the PELA Board of Trustees, participants engaged in a 10-month hybrid program consisting of both online and in-person educational sessions and networking opportunities aimed at elevating potential leaders in the aggregates, concrete and cement industries, along with industry partners such as consulting engineers, equipment dealers and manufacturers, admixtures, service providers, and more. Led by instructor and facilitator Greg Coker from Greg Coker Development, class members had the opportunity to meet key industry and legislative leaders throughout the commonwealth, tour member company plants and facilities, participate in media training, and learn valuable leadership and life skills they can now bring back to their respective companies and share with their peers.

As part of the graduation requirements, PELA students must successfully complete a Capstone project. This year's class focused on the industry’s awareness and attention on mental health by delivering presentations that speak to this important topic not only in the crushed stone, ready mixed concrete, sand and gravel, and cement industries but across all professions.

“This year’s class was prepared and professional each step of the way,” said Kallie Kline, PELA liaison and PACA’s director of member services. “They asked questions, supported each other, learned from each other. There is not much more we can ask for from the industry’s future leaders. They will no doubt continue to thrive in their careers.”
